Child of God

“Murder is his salvation”

Lester Ballard (Scott Haze) has lost his parents and then his house, and the film never explains why he has no one left to take him in. He drifts into the Tennessee hills and settles into a cave, answering to no one. James Franco keeps the sheriff (Tim Blake Nelson) and the townspeople at the edge of his life, the only people who still know his name.
