“The deadliest crossroad.”

Clayton Drumm (Fabio Testi), a gunslinger with a noose already waiting for him, is offered a way out: kill Matthew Sebanek (Warren Oates), the miner who won't sell his land to the railroad. Monte Hellman sends him to the Sebanek place, where Clayton meets Matthew's wife Catherine (Jenny Agutter). Matthew's refusal is the one thing standing in the railroad's way, so a man's life now weighs against the line.
