Tony (Richard Panebianco), a teenager from Little Italy, meets Tye (Sari Chang), a girl from Chinatown, and the two start seeing each other across a line their neighborhoods have kept for years. Abel Ferrara sets it in a New York where Alby (James Russo) and Yung Gan (Russell Wong) are already measuring each other's territory. Tony keeps showing up for her anyway, and every night he spends with her puts his place among his own people at risk.
