Chinese Odyssey 2002

Li Yilong (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) is a drifter in the town of Meilong who has no idea how tangled his luck is about to get. The young Emperor Zheng De (Chang Chen) and his sister Princess Wushuang (Faye Wong) slip out of the palace and wander into town, where each of them meets the person they will love. Jeffrey Lau, writing and directing for producer Wong Kar-wai, plays the whole story as a loud parody of a 1959 Huangmei opera film.
