Chinese Roulette

Ariane (Margit Carstensen) and Gerhard Christ (Alexander Allerson), a wealthy Munich couple, each tell the other a lie to get a weekend alone with a lover. Both end up at the family's country house, Irene (Anna Karina) and Kolbe (Ulli Lommel) in tow, with nowhere left to hide. Fassbinder fills the house with people who deceive each other as a matter of habit, and the marriage is only the place where it shows.
