Chocolat

A young Frenchwoman is on her way to see her childhood home in a colonial outpost in Northern Cameroon. As she goes, she remembers the house, her parents Marc (François Cluzet) and Aimée Dalens (Giulia Boschi), and the family's houseboy Protée (Isaach de Bankolé). In her directorial debut, Claire Denis lets the girl's memories gather around him and keeps the family at a close, watchful distance.
