Chopper

“Never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn.”

Mark "Chopper" Read (Eric Bana) wants to be feared, and he wants a name that carries through every prison wing and bar in Melbourne. His violence is a kind of career, and his appetite for drugs and women comes second to it. Andrew Dominik, in his first feature, shoots it in a grainy, sweat-lit 70s grit and lets Bana's menace come with a grin.
