Big Bird (Caroll Spinney) is worried because Oscar has told him that Santa Claus may never fit down a chimney. If Santa can't, nobody gets presents, so Grover and Kermit the Frog (Jim Henson) help him look into it while Bert and Ernie swap gifts of their own. Jon Stone's special airs one night in December 1978, and its last image is Big Bird, the one everyone has gone looking for.
