Christmas in Connecticut

Elizabeth Lane (Barbara Stanwyck) writes the "Diary of a Housewife" column, praised for its Connecticut farm, its husband and its baby, though she is single, childless and can barely cook. When her publisher Alexander Yardley (Sydney Greenstreet) sends war hero Jefferson Jones (Dennis Morgan) to spend Christmas at that farm, Peter Godfrey's film puts her in a house she doesn't own. If Yardley finds out, she and her editor lose their jobs.
