Christmas in July

“If you can't sleep at night, it isn't the coffee - it's the bunk!”

Jimmy MacDonald (Dick Powell) is an office clerk who enters every contest he can find, sure that one of them will pay for a wedding with Betty Casey (Ellen Drew). His latest is the Maxford House Coffee Slogan Contest, and some co-workers send him a fake telegram saying he has won the $25,000 grand prize. Preston Sturges writes the whole thing around the belief that money in your pocket changes how you walk into a room.
