Two families, the Colombos and the Covellis, rent the same chalet in Cortina d'Ampezzo for Christmas, each sure the place is theirs alone. Ettore Colombo (Massimo Boldi) and Avvocato Covelli (Christian De Sica) have to share the holiday with a Superenalotto winner and a pair of penniless students from Emilia. Carlo Vanzina packs the house with relatives, rivals and strangers, and what he shows is how a family gets by when it has to live on top of other people.
