In the years before 1492, the Genoese navigator Christopher Columbus (Georges Corraface) is turned away by Portugal and carries his plan to cross the unknown ocean west to the Spanish court. He has to get past Tomas de Torquemada (Marlon Brando), head of the Inquisition, before Queen Isabella (Rachel Ward) will back three ships. John Glen, a director known for action, films the voyage as a plain adventure of sabotage and mutiny.
