Chronicle of the Years of Fire

Ahmed (Yorgo Voyagis) is a peasant who wants only to work his land and keep his family fed, until the years after 1939 force him to see what colonial rule has done to everyone around him. Mohammed Lakhdar-Hamina follows him toward November 1, 1954, with his son watching and the half-mad storyteller Miloud (Mohammed Lakhdar-Hamina) recalling every earlier revolt. Each year that passes brings the revolution closer, and Ahmed's family stands in its path.
