Cinderella Liberty

In Seattle, a Navy sailor named John Baggs Jr. (James Caan) is stuck on base with a lost set of service records and weeks of liberty he has no use for. Mark Rydell follows him into the bars along the waterfront, where he meets Maggie Paul (Marsha Mason), a prostitute with a ten-year-old son, Doug (Kirk Calloway). Baggs starts looking after the boy first, and Maggie watches him do it.
