Ranko (Aleksandar Berček), a Serbian soldier in Bosnia in 1993, wants to stop three fellow soldiers from beating a Muslim civilian, and he steps in even though he knows it will cost him. Srdan Golubović builds the film on a true story and follows what that single act sets in motion across the twelve years that come after. For the people tied to Ranko, the question is how long they will go on carrying what he did.
