Circus

Marion Dixon (Lyubov Orlova) is an American circus performer whose act draws crowds until it comes out that she is the mother of a mixed-race child. The scandal follows her out of America, and in the USSR she finds a circus that takes her in, along with a new love in Ivan Petrovich Martinov (Sergey Stolyarov). Grigori Aleksandrov, who called it "an eccentric comedy," stages it as a side-splitting musical built on big numbers.
