Citizen Kane

“Some called him a hero...others called him a heel.”

Charles Foster Kane (Orson Welles) is a small boy when he's taken from his mother and handed to Walter Parks Thatcher (George Coulouris), a banker who will raise him as a ward. The boy grows into a newspaper magnate, and every kind, tyrannical or ruinous thing he does afterward seems to trace back to that day. Welles, in his first feature, builds the frame around Kane like an architecture that rises with him.
