Some called him a hero...others called him a heel.

A newspaper magnate named Charles Foster Kane (Orson Welles) dies in his Florida mansion, and journalists scramble to decode his final word: "Rosebud." Jedediah Leland (Joseph Cotten) and Susan Alexander Kane (Dorothy Comingore) witness his rise from idealistic publisher to isolate tycoon. Welles composes the film in overlapping flashbacks and fragmented rooms, each one another angle on a man too large for the frame.
