City Lights

“How far will you go for the love of your family?”

Deepak Singh (Rajkummar Rao) was an army man who ran a small garment shop in a Rajasthani village until a tragedy ended that life. He takes his wife and young child to Mumbai on the hope that a big city will pay him what the village no longer can. Hansal Mehta, remaking the British film Metro Manila, shows a family learning how little a place like that offers people who arrive with nothing.
