“Wanting a man dead can be reason enough to live.”

Roy Egan (Harvey Keitel), a retired thief, is pulled back in for one last jewelry heist in Los Angeles with his brother Lee (Timothy Hutton) and a crew of partners. When Lee is murdered by one of those partners, Skip Kovich (Stephen Dorff), who runs with the stolen jewels, Roy goes after him. John Irvin follows the chase through rain-darkened streets, where Roy stands wet and silent under the lights of a city that seems to have forgotten him.
