Tommy Akhtar (Riz Ahmed), a down-at-heel private eye in London, takes what looks like a simple missing-person job when a Russian prostitute named Shelley (Billie Piper) vanishes. Pete Travis follows him into religious fanaticism and political intrigue. Tommy answers to his father Farzad (Roshan Seth) and keeps asking questions he can't leave alone.
