Claire's Knee
Jérôme (Jean-Claude Brialy), a diplomat about to be married, spends a last summer holiday on the shore of Lake Annecy and finds himself wanting one small, specific thing: to touch the knee of a girl he has barely spoken to. Éric Rohmer lets him talk it over with the novelist Aurora (Aurora Cornu), while the girl's sister Laura (Béatrice Romand) keeps flirting with him. The desire is tiny, and he treats it as if it were the only thing that mattered.
