Claudine

“A heart and soul comedy. Can you dig it?”

Every morning Claudine Price (Diahann Carroll) rides out of New York City to the suburbs, where she cleans houses for wealthy families in a carefully tended white community. She has six children at home, and her path crosses with Roop Marshall (James Earl Jones), a charming garbage collector who is good-natured and not at all dependable. John Berry follows the two as they fall for each other while she worries about her kids and he balks at being a father.
