Cleopatra

(1934)Directed by Cecil B. DeMille100 minHistory, Drama, Romance
“The love affair that shook the world!”

The Nile runs through ancient Egypt, where Cleopatra (Claudette Colbert) rules as queen and sails her barge toward Julius Caesar (Warren William), then later toward Marc Antony (Henry Wilcoxon). Cecil B. DeMille fills the frame with gold, feathers and crowds of attendants. Each man she charms ties her throne a little closer to Rome, and Octavian (Ian Keith) is waiting in the wings.
