Michael Newman (Adam Sandler), an architect who barely sees his wife Donna (Kate Beckinsale) and kids, finds a mysterious remote control that lets him skip through his own life. A strange man named Morty (Christopher Walken) appears to explain what he's really done. Frank Coraci builds the fantasy around the ordinary wreckage of choices deferred, then lets the camera linger on what gets lost in the spaces we skip.
