Ella Patel (Dianna Agron) is days from her 38th birthday and has no child, though everyone around her seems to be waiting for one. She signs up for a clinical study run by Dr. Elizabeth Simmons (Melora Hardin), a treatment meant to repair what her body won't do on its own.
