Close Encounters of the Third Kind

“We are not alone.”

A power outage sends Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss), an electrical lineman in Indiana, out onto a dark road, where a UFO passes over his truck and leaves him with an image he can't shake. Spielberg tracks Roy alongside Jillian Guiler (Melinda Dillon), whose young son has vanished, and Claude Lacombe (François Truffaut), a French scientist chasing the same unexplained signs. Roy's pull toward one remote place costs him his work and his family's patience.
