Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader) has moved on from his food-making machine, but the island where it crashed has become a jungle where sentient food creatures roam wild. He returns with weather reporter Sam Sparks (Anna Faris) to shut down the machine before the food spreads beyond the island. As Flint and Sam navigate the chaos of living fruit and animated vegetables, what matters most turns out to be standing together in the mess.
