Cloverfield

“Whatever it is, it's winning.”

A monster the size of a skyscraper is tearing through Manhattan, and nobody at Rob Hawkins's going-away party can say what it is. Hud (T.J. Miller) keeps filming, so the whole night reaches us through his camera, with Rob (Michael Stahl-David), Lily (Jessica Lucas) and Marlena (Lizzy Caplan) trying to get out of the city. Matt Reeves keeps us at their level, where a catastrophe is only ever as large as the street you are standing on.
