“The vacation you'll never forget - no matter how hard you try.”

Nobody on the island can say why a retired Chicago firefighter, Jack Moniker (Robin Williams), traded his pension for a place like this, or why the owner of a failing resort, Anthony Cloyden Hayes (Peter O'Toole), takes to him so quickly. Harold Ramis sets the film in a fictional Caribbean republic where corrupt officials and businessmen want the resort. The two men share a peeling building, a plan to bring in tourists, and a friendship that carries all of it.
