Cockfighter

“From Governor's Mansions to Cheap Hotels: The Big Money Sport that's Dirty-Violent and Outside the Law!”

Frank Mansfield (Warren Oates) trains fighting cocks, and he has sworn not to speak a word until one of his birds wins a championship. Monte Hellman follows him through the cockfighting circuit, where rivals like Jack Burke (Harry Dean Stanton) and Omar Baradansky (Richard B. Shull) do all the talking for him. Frank keeps his mouth shut and his eyes on the pit, and the vow costs him a little more each time he walks out of it.
