“When he pours, he reigns.”

Brian Flanagan (Tom Cruise) comes home to Queens after the Army, a business student who needs money and takes a job behind a bar. Doug Coughlin (Bryan Brown), the owner, teaches him the trade, and Brian turns the flashy drink-mixing into a show the regulars come back for. Roger Donaldson follows Brian as he takes on Doug's cynical view of life and goes after the money, with Jordan Mooney (Elisabeth Shue) in the picture.
