CODA

“Every family has its own language.”

Ruby Rossi (Emilia Jones) is the only hearing person in her family, so she interprets for her deaf parents, Frank (Troy Kotsur) and Jackie (Marlee Matlin), and helps run their struggling fishing boat. Sian Heder follows her through early mornings on the water and a place in the school choir, where a music teacher (Eugenio Derbez) hears a gift for singing in her voice. Ruby has spent her whole life being her family's ears, and she can't picture being anything else.
