“Love has a language all its own.”

Anne Laurent (Juliette Binoche) is an actress in Paris whose boyfriend Georges (Thierry Neuvic) photographs the war in Kosovo. Her life crosses with four others after a small incident on the street: Georges' brother Jean (Alexandre Hamidi), who cannot find the entry code to the apartment, a Romanian immigrant, and a deaf teacher. Michael Haneke builds the film from long, unbroken takes, and each scene ends on a cut rather than a resolution.
