Cold Mountain

“Find your way home.”

The American Civil War is nearly over when W.P. Inman (Jude Law), wounded and done with the fighting, deserts his Confederate unit and starts walking home across the South. Waiting on the farm near Cold Mountain is Ada Monroe (Nicole Kidman), left to keep the place going with a drifter named Ruby (Renée Zellweger). Anthony Minghella sets the two journeys against each other, and each of them has to hold out long enough to see the other again.
