“History is about to change”

Colette (Keira Knightley) is a country girl from rural France who marries the celebrated Parisian writer Willy (Dominic West) and is carried off to the city's salons and studios. Wash Westmoreland follows her as Willy talks her into ghostwriting for him, and the Claudine novels she produces sell so well that his name is soon on everything. Each new book makes Colette's hand more necessary to the household and her claim to her own words harder to hold.
