Colossal Youth

“Raise your arm, shout out your freedom”

Ventura, a 75-year-old Cape Verdean immigrant, has been moved to a housing project on the edge of Lisbon after the government pulled down his slum. Pedro Costa lets the ordinary in-between hours do the telling, and Ventura stands in a bare, clean room, his hands hanging at his sides.
