Come to the Stable

(1949)Directed by Henry Koster94 minComedy, Drama, Family
“Laughs To Make Your Heart Ring Out With Joy!”

Nobody in Bethlehem, a small New England town, can say why two French nuns have turned up unannounced. Sister Margaret (Loretta Young) and Sister Scholastica (Celeste Holm) go door to door recruiting the townspeople to help them build a children's hospital, among them Amelia Potts (Elsa Lanchester). Henry Koster follows the two sisters as they move through the town in their habits, a pair of dark figures among the New England houses of Bethlehem.
