Coming Home

Lu Yanshi (Chen Daoming) is arrested during the Cultural Revolution and sent to a labor camp, leaving behind his wife Feng Wanyu (Gong Li) and their daughter Dandan (Zhang Huiwen). When he finally makes it home, Feng looks at him and does not know who he is. Zhang Yimou, adapting Geling Yan's novel, keeps the camera quiet and close, so the years that separated them show on two faces.
