Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage), a former Army ranger just paroled, wants nothing more than to get home to his wife. His ride is the "Jailbird," a prison transport carrying the worst of the worst, including the serial killer Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom (John Malkovich), to a new super-prison. Simon West stages the whole thing as a loud, fast Jerry Bruckheimer production, with the camera always moving and the plane never quiet.
