Beldar (Dan Aykroyd) is an advance scout from the planet Remulak, sent to Earth to prepare an invasion that is wrecked when his ship crashes. He and his wife Prymatt (Jane Curtin) settle in Paramus, New Jersey, with their tall cone-shaped heads, stiff robotic walks and a taste for toilet paper. Steve Barron keeps the two of them deadpan and tender together, and everyone they meet accepts that they come from France.
