Consenting Adults

“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.”

In a quiet American suburb, Richard Parker (Kevin Kline) and his wife Priscilla (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) live a settled life until Eddy Otis (Kevin Spacey) and his wife Kay move in next door. The Otises are secretive and hedonistic, and Alan J. Pakula lets their easy charm sit uneasily beside the Parkers' tired marriage. Richard has a neighbor's wife in view and a marriage already coming apart, and he has no idea what that could cost him.
