Contraband

“What would you hide to protect your family?”

Chris Farraday (Mark Wahlberg) got out of smuggling years ago and wants only to keep his family safe, with his wife Kate (Kate Beckinsale) and their kids. Then his brother-in-law runs afoul of a drug lord, and Chris has to go back to the old trade to cover the debt, a run of illicit goods from Panama into the United States. Baltasar Kormákur builds the film around loyalty to family, and how far a man will go once that loyalty is a debt someone is owed.
