In 1978, truckers on the Arizona highways trade warnings about parked cops over their CB radios. Rubber Duck (Kris Kristofferson) is one of them, with Pig Pen (Burt Young) and Widow Woman (Madge Sinclair), until a sheriff named Wallace learns the airwaves and starts broadcasting false tips of his own. Sam Peckinpah's film is about drivers who answer being hounded by lining their trucks up, one behind another, and refusing to be pushed off the road.
