(1975)Directed by Joël Séria105 minRomance, Drama, Comedy

Henri Serin (Jean-Pierre Marielle) sells umbrellas for a living and paints on the side, shuttling between sales trips and a home ruled by his bigoted wife. Joël Séria follows him to Pont-Aven, where he drinks and chases women alongside Émile, a local painter who imitates Gauguin. Henri has dropped everything to live on love and fresh water, and nothing he leaves behind is guaranteed to wait for him.
