Jack Deebs (Gabriel Byrne) is a cartoonist who drew a whole world to get through his prison sentence, and its star is Holli Would (Kim Basinger), a doodle who wants out of the ink. She pulls him into Cool World, where Frank Harris (Brad Pitt), the only other human, tells him the law: noids don't touch doodles. Ralph Bakshi sets cartoon and flesh against each other, and if Holli crosses over, both worlds go down with her.
