“One kid's fantasy. One cop's nightmare.”

In 1993, an eight-year-old named Devon Butler (Norman D. Golden II) witnesses a murder and offers to help the police on one condition: they have to make him a cop. Nick McKenna (Burt Reynolds), a veteran detective who works alone, gets stuck with the kid as his partner while the clock runs on the case. Henry Winkler directs the pair, Reynolds in his cop's jacket and tie, Devon beside him in a police badge, both of them chasing the same killer.
