Copacabana

Babou (Isabelle Huppert) has dodged jobs, husbands and responsibilities for years, until she learns her daughter Esméralda (Lolita Chammah) is too embarrassed to invite her to the wedding. Marc Fitoussi follows her as she sets out to prove she can hold down a job and be the mother she never was. Huppert plays her with her chin up and her shoulders loose, a woman shrugging at everything while the people around her wait for her to stop.
