Copying Beethoven

Anna Holtz (Diane Kruger), a conservatory student in Vienna, is sent to the rooms of Ludwig van Beethoven (Ed Harris) to copy out his newest pages, since no one else can keep up with him. Agnieszka Holland follows her through the last years of his life, as she gets close to his genius and to how cruelly he treats the people nearby. Anna sits bent over the copyist's desk, ink on her fingers, the half-finished score open in front of her.
