Coriolanus

“Nature teaches beasts to know their friends.”

Caius Martius Coriolanus (Ralph Fiennes) is a Roman general who has spent his life defending the city and wants nothing more than to be left to soldier. His mother pushes him toward the office of consul, and that means asking the common people for their votes, which he despises. Ralph Fiennes sets Shakespeare's play in a contemporary, Balkan-like country, and exile drives Coriolanus to his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler), with Rome itself the price.
