“You're going to have the most turbo-charged, chrome-plated, plush-lined, high-gloss, super-speed customized time of your life.”

In 1978, at a California high school, the shop class has built a fully tricked-out Corvette Stingray, and Ken Dantley (Mark Hamill) designed much of it himself. When the car is stolen, he follows the trail to Las Vegas, where Vanessa (Annie Potts), a young woman who wants to be a prostitute, offers to help him find it. Matthew Robbins sends a kid with a screwdriver and a hunch up against a city that has plenty to lose.
